As our new Game Server Engineer you will work on server-side gameplay and engine systems and you will be responsible for developing game functionality, including backend and front end features across all platforms for The Elder Scrolls Online

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement game and backend infrastructure systems
  • Aid the engineering, network operations, and platform teams to deliver large interconnected features
  • Collaborate with team members to produce and manage scalable architecture
  • Work closely with Art & UX teams to ensure game is polished
  • Collaborate closely with the design team to plan features and evaluate technical feasibility
  • Write superior code that integrates with systems that already exist on the server as well as on all clients
  • Create plans and tools to deploy game servers; from staging to initial launch through scaling and post-launch
  • Show product ownership through collaboration with product managers, designers, other front-end developers and back-end engineers to refine the user experience
  • Demonstrate strong inter-personal and communication skills, including clear and concise writing
  • Solve real-time storage problems at a large scale

Requirements:

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related/equivalent technical discipline
  • Solid C/C++ programming skills
  • Sharp communication skills
  • Experience with network game client/server architecture
  • Understanding of game server security and exploit issues
  • Prior network game or MMO development experience
  • Robust optimization and debugging ethics
  • Passionate about for video games
