Knife Edge Software seeks new talent. Join our team as a Senior Game Engine developer. Help create the next generation of our market-leading R/C simulation product, RealFlight.
We are looking for a high level of familiarity and work experience in delivering high-performance, visually appealing game or simulation implementations. Specifically, we are looking for expertise with optimizing shaders, art tools, export/import/postprocessing, and rendering/physics threading, to get the highest performance for a given level of visual quality.
Location: Our offices in Corvallis, Oregon (preferred), or work from home.
Pay: Commensurate with experience.
We prefer candidates with at least 7 years of game or simulation related experience.
You must have broad application development experience with multiple commercial or open source game engines (Havok/Vision, Unreal, Unigine, CryEngine, Unity, etc).
As well, candidate must have:
C++ game engine/application development expertise.
Experience architecting and implementing the rendering and visual presentation aspects of a high-performance game or simulation engine.
Shader development, modification, benchmarking.
Familiarity with artwork authoring tools (3DS Max, Photoshop) and assets, comparative benefits and tradeoffs.
Clear spoken and written English skills.
Good to have:
Modification and extending existing engine features.
Scripting possibly including Lua, C#/Mono, proprietary languages.
Cross-platform development and deployment. For example, delivering applications for iOS, PC, Android, Linux, consoles.
Experience or interest in R/C models, robotics, UAVs, or other cool things.
