Game Art & Design - Adjunct Professors

 

The Game Art & Design program at Woodbury University, Burbank is growing. We are looking for experienced part-time faculty for our Fall 2014 classes.

 

Game Art Emphasis - Adjunct Professor Requirements:

  • Master of Fine Arts degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity and knowledge of many video games, old, and new.
  • Experience managing class rosters, attendance, timely grading of assignments.
  • Published game title(s) a major plus.     
  • Experienced video game artist who knows industry workflows and the software production pipeline.
  • Must be able to provide critical, informed, and creative feedback to students.
  • Accomplished user of the art software we teach and use to create games:
    • Adobe Creative Suite - Photoshop, AfterEffects, Illustrator, Premiere
    • Unity3D Pro
    • Autodesk Maya 2014
    • Autodesk Motion Builder
    • Pixologic Zbrush
    • Sculptris
    • Headus UV Layout
    • TopoGun
    • Motionmedia Quixel NDO2
    • MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint

 

Game Design Emphasis - Adjunct Professor Requirements:

  • Master of Fine Arts degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Extensive hands-on experience and knowledge of the Unity3D game engine’s capabilities and scripting with Unity’s JavaScript.
  • Must be able to provide critical, informed, and creative feedback to students.
  • Able to instruct and guide students through best practices of game prototyping, play testing, iteration, presentation and collaboration.
  • Able to teach students how to deconstruct video/computer games into Formal, Dramatic, and Dynamic systems (Fullerton).
  • Experienced user of MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
  • Familiarity and knowledge of many video games, old, and new.
  • Experience managing class rosters, attendance, timely grading of assignments.
  • Published game title(s) a major plus.
