Front End Web Engineer

BattleCry, the newest ZeniMax studio in Austin, is seeking a qualified Front End Web Engineer to help create and maintain our web presence for AAA online games.  This includes the game accounts web site, enhancing the studio website, our web and mobile- based storefront, and front end for support tools.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and build web-based presentation layer for the game and game tools



  • 3-5+ years’ experience as a professional front end web developer
  • Strong competency in front-end web technologies (such as HTML 5, SASS/CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, Flash)
  • Strong web framework skills: AJAX and JS toolkits, GWT or equivalent
  • Expertise with MVC frameworks
  • Experience working with secure RESTful web services that are highly scalable
  • Experience with build and release management systems
  • Understanding of web design best practices
  • Understanding of OOP
  • Interest in and understanding of game mechanics
  • BS Degree in Computer Science or (equivalent)


Bonus Skills:

  • Python and/or Node.js
  • MVC frameworks in Python or Node.js
  • Experience with development in a cloud based environment like AWS
  • Familiarity with SQL & No-SQL databases and distributed caching solutions preferred
  • Experience with APIs of major Social Networks
  • Understanding of data serialization with XML and JSON distributed caching solutions is a plus
  • Understanding of building and maintaining high availability web application
