Bluepoint is looking for an ENVIRONMENT ARTIST to join our team on a contract basis as we work on our latest project. Help us remaster a highly acclaimed AAA handheld product to a current- generation console. The contract work is needed for approximately 2 months.
-- Creating high-quality current generation models from lower-resolution geometry
-- Subdividing geometry to remove faceting while maintaining optimal polygon counts
-- Increasing texture resolutions through proper algorithmic techniques or by repainting textures
-- Generating normal maps from base textures
-- Sculpting details for normal maps
-- Creating detail textures
-- Knowledge of Maya modeling tools
-- Knowledge of Photoshop for image manipulation/ texturing
-- Basic sculpting/detailing skills in ZBrush or Mudbox
-- Understanding of Knald for generating normal maps from base textures is a bonus
--Basic understanding of game workflows and pipelines
-- At least 2 years of experience in the games industry
-- A portfolio reflecting high-quality game art
-- The ability to work onsite at our facility in Austin, TX
