Engine Programmer – Unreal Engine 4 (UE4)

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Work closely with engine programmers at Epic to develop new features for UE4
  • Implement, test, debug, and maintain engine code for UE4
  • Estimate and manage your schedules and tasks
  • Write code on a professional quality level
  • Help to peer-review code and keep Phosphor's code quality bar high
  • Write TDDs and/or user guides for new editor features you implement

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of software development experience in the game industry
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or similar discipline
  • Advanced C++ programming skills
  • Excellent 3D Math, Trig, and Linear Algebra skills.
  • Familiar with modern practices of object oriented programming and processes
  • Highly self-motivated and eager to learn new systems and skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Excellent sense of humor and interpersonal skills

 

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Experience with UE3 script and/or source code a plus
  • Worked with major modern consoles (360, PS3, Wii)
  • Worked on mobile game development (iOS or Android)
  • Experience optimizing C++ code for performance
  • Experience with multithreaded systems
  • Knowledge of any major third-party middleware (PhysX, Bink, SpeedTree, Scaleform)
  • Familiar with perforce or other modern SCM best practices
  • Familiar with Visual Studio
