Creative Director

Amazon Game Studios is a highly creative, fast paced team creating must-have games. We combine a startup atmosphere with the considerable resource backing of Amazon.

You are a veteran game designer and creative leader with experience designing and creating world-class games. You know how to inspire a multi-functional design team that consists of systems and level designers. You know how to work effectively with all disciplines (art, engineering, ui/ux, test, and production) to deliver experiences that thrill customers. You know how to create and maintain a collaborative environment that fosters strong design thinking and creativity. You will get your hands dirty and can pitch in directly to help solve design problems and implement solutions. You lead by example, and make everyone around you better.


  • Inspire a team of game designers, level designers, and systems designers.
  • Establish and maintain a positive work environment that fosters creativity and world-class design.
  • Guide and evangelize the vision for the studio.
  • Ability to dive deep on low level design issues and work hands-on to prototype and implement design solutions.
  • Work with an internal cross functional team to ensure our projects are leading in gameplay innovation and quality.
  • Provide design mentoring for a team of game designers.
  • Closely monitor competing games and industry trends.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of game production experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Shipped AAA games as creative director or equivalent.
  • Passion for and knowledge of games across genres and devices.
  • Experience designing and developing game UX/UI.
  • Direct experience with modern game design tools and engines such as Unity, Unreal, or CryEngine.
  • Deep understanding of modern production practices, such as Agile
  • Clear, concise, and specific communication skills.
