Community Spokesperson

Squad is seeking a passionate, hands-on online community spokesperson to support and unite the thriving Kerbal Space Program community. This role is a very important position as it will be the day-to-day spokesperson for Squad’s small, international development team as well as the voice for the KSP community to the developers. The person hired for this position should be a gamer and enthusiastic about social media, able to study trends and fan exchanges as well as stay up-to-date on the latest gaming, pop culture and space news to become a valued part of the KSP community.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and update day-to-day social media pages for Kerbal Space Program
  • Maintain an authentic, public-facing personality for social platforms while contributing and monitoring posts and comments on relevant social media communities
  • Moderate and interact with public and private forums as well as the popular Kerbal Space Program subreddit
  • Research and compile statistics on friends, followers, subscribers across various social media sites and pages
  • Deliver routine reports that keep the rest of the team up-to-date on relevant community discussions
  • Absorb a deep understanding of Kerbal Space Program, it’s mods and anything else tied directly to the game and our community
  • Contribute to the development of a content editorial calendar that would inspire brand loyalty and ignite dialogue with the creation, publishing and curation of content around Kerbal Space Program

What we’re looking for in a Community Spokesperson:

  • Preferred 1-2 years of community management experience with a games company
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, game design, game production or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent writer and verbal communicator
  • A team player, eager to learn and work with others
  • Critical thinker who can execute and deliver results on deadlines
  • Must play games regularly, preferably online PC/Mac games
  • Experienced in game community management
  • Basic knowledge of both PC and Mac OS
  • Comfortable using Google Drive, Skype and Dropbox
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ready to work remote or from Mexico City
  • Expert social media user with a desire to try new networks

Able to travel, including potential international travel
