Business Development Manager, Digital Games and Software

Amazon is now looking for a proactive senior business development manager to lead our Digital Software and Games business in Europe. The person in this role will own all aspects of our digital relationships with key publishers and content providers including merchandising, catalog expansion, promotions, pricing and identifying and driving new initiatives with the goal of creating a phenomenal site experience to help customers find, discover and buy digital software and video games. These Amazon digital categories are fast growing, and operate in a highly ambiguous and fast paced environment.
The candidate must be a strong people and organization leader, both in driving initiatives internally and externally. Must demonstrate the ability to succeed at managing and driving a business, including setting strategic direction, hiring and managing a team of Vendor Managers, driving sales & marketing, driving cost improvements, and improving efficiency across the organization. The candidate will have proven experience delivering results and influencing both within and outside his/her organization.

The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills; the analytical horsepower to break down complicated business terms; experience working with external vendors; and a strong will to get stuff done and deliver results. Keys to success also include a strong interest in digital media and video games and a sense of humor.
The successful candidate will work on Digital goods for the following platforms. PC, MAC and Consoles only (No Apps/Mobile).

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree required
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Experience with business analysis
  • Ability to travel internationally
  • Negotiation experience and experience in managing external vendors
  • Proficient in Excel
  • High attention to detail
  • Based or whiling to relocate to Luxembourg (Relocation costs will be covered)
  • Strong familiarity with the software and video games categories

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrate the ability to create and execute on a successful content acquisition, sales, or business development strategy
  • Demonstrate competency in establishing successful partnerships with digital content companies - ability to structure, negotiate, and close high-profile deals independently
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; strong bias towards data-based decision making, and comfort with financial and operational analysis
  • Tenacity and sense of urgency; the ability make things happen quickly with large, less nimble partners
  • Fluency in German or French
  • MBA desired
