The format is similar to that of Riot Games but the tone of the writing is unique to us.
While it shares the conversational/informality of Riot Games and IGN’s layout the tone is designed to create a sense of scope and power while offering a challenge.
The company has been placed on a pedestal in the opening paragraph to raise the value of the workplace in the eyes of the reader. Words like proud and passionate are meant to tap into the ego of the candidates.
Following up with “Rise to the challenge” continues this lexical theme of bravery, pride, conquering and strength in their work while leaving them with a sense of achievement they have made an impact on something renowned (hence “career defining”).
The narrative turns to the reader, engaging them with “you” and “your” much like the iconic recruitment poster used by the British army in World War 1 and copied by the US army 3 years later because of it’s effectiveness:
My marketing suggestion is we should have our graphic artists play with this theme since it plays perfectly into our recruitment agenda and the historical themes of the WoT games.
If successful I think we could turn this into a fun PR “Wargaming Wants YOU” campaign making various Wargaming artwork based on the different WoT area posters different nationalities made. These would be banner ads we’d post on gaming websites and jobs boards. They’d also feature as the graphic used on our homepage visual slider whenever we have new positions available.
