AtomJack is hiring for a skilled 3D Animator to bring our characters and our world to life. Collaboration is key as you work with the team to take our characters and fill them with action and emotion.
Norman McLaren famously said, “Animation is not the art of drawings that move but the art of movements that are drawn.” We agree. Movement communicates a character’s purpose, thoughts, and emotions. Each character and their story are brought to life through the imagination and skills of a talented animator.
Your skills as an artist and technician, with your understanding of traditional and 3D animation techniques will bring new heroes, villains, and creatures to life. Your technical skills and ability to problem solve will come in handy as you work closely with our small team to develop the technology that supports your creations. As a gamer you’ll have a very close relationship with the game designers where you’ll create a perfect marriage of design and animation, resulting in a truly phenomenal game play experience.
Our team values stylized animation found in classic cell animation as well as current CG animated features to be distilled for use in engaging game play. We are aiming for a hand-crafted feel for the animation, rather than the results of a hyper-realistic motion capture session.
Ideally you have extensive experience animating a diverse visual range of characters and creatures with a solid grasp of character design, anatomical form, structure and movement. You should have a skill in another art task as well (illustration, modeling, texturing, animation, or concept drawing), and be well-versed in related tools - Maya, ZBrush, Photoshop, etc.
This is a full-time, salaried position at our studio office in Seattle, WA.
