PopCap is looking for an Art Director to join our Peggle Franchise Studio. The Peggle Franchise Art Director will be responsible for defining and directing a stylistic reboot of our Peggle franchise.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with key stakeholders, define an artistic vision for the Peggle franchise
  • Create and maintain a franchise style guide
  • Ensure artistic consistency across platforms and games whilst allowing for platform specialization
  • Hiring, goal setting and performance reviews for four artists in two locations. A significant component of this role is nurturing the existing, talented art teams
  • Oversee the work of the artists across multiple projects simultaneously to ensure it meets the PopCap standard of high quality art
  • Schedule resources and ensure art assets are organized and tracked
  • Work with stakeholders in the rest of the company to ensure consistent representation of game assets in marketing materials

    Required Skills/Personal Requirements:

  • Strong, unique creative identity with the ability to communicate and inspire
  • 7+ years experience as an artist or animator in a high-tech environment is required
  • 3+ years experience as a managing artist
  • Ability to provide clear constructive feedback to artists on their work
  • Strong graphic design skills, including logo treatments, color and font choices, screen layout, etc.
  • Wide range of experience in all areas of game art, including creation of backgrounds, characters, game objects, user interface, animation, creation of 3D objects, particle effects, etc.
  • Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, After Effects and 3D software packages
  • Strong creative and technical communication skills
  • A keen understanding of the difference between feedback and direction
  • Strong organizational skills
  • A passion for games
  • A genuine interest in people and desire to help them improve
  • This role will require a quarterly trip to Ireland

    Education and/or Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or related experiences
