Sr. Graphics Programmer

Essential Job Functions:

The Senior Graphics Programmer is responsible for implementing and extending a 2D/3D, cross-platform game-engine for all Playdek mobile titles. He/she will also be responsible for the design and implementation of various tools to streamline the art asset pipeline into the applications.


What You’ll Do:

  • Architect and implement a 2D/3D cross-platform game engine that is scalable across multiple mobile devices
  • Create and/or extend a set of art-team friendly tools for the creation of game ready assets
  • Formulate and streamline game asset creation process for both the art and programming teams
  • Optimize the graphics engine for solid game play
  • Construct solutions to unforeseen design problems in a timely manner
  • Understand and follows a task schedule that is provided by the Lead
  • Coordinate with Leads to communicate scheduling and progress information
  • Apply strong problem-solving/debugging skills in C++
  • Interact and communicate effectively with management on both a project and studio level
  • Perform other similar or related duties as necessary

What We’re Looking For:

  • 4+ years of relevant graphics engine development experience
  • Prior professional development work on 3D game-engine design and implementation
  • Thorough knowledge of 3D mathematics
  • Experience with 3D graphics API such as OpenGL, Direct3D, gcm, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of modern graphics techniques
  • Experience with low-level graphics debugging and optimization
  • Thorough knowledge of C/C++ and object-oriented programming
  • Self-motivated with strong work ethic
  • Good communication skills and thrives as a member of a team
  • Utilizes engineering methodology for problem-solving
  • Ability to multi-task and to adapt easily to change
  • Preferably worked on at least one shipped game title
