Texture Artist
High Moon Studios seeks a highly skilled Texture Artist to create visually compelling and creative artwork for a high-profile franchised title. Candidates should have extensive experience working with painting tools to achieve photo-realistic surfaces on computer-generated artwork. The ideal candidate must be organized and creative, with the ability to solve problems efficiently.
  • Work closely with art director and environment art team to provide high-fidelity texture maps for production assets
  • Create photo-realistic materials in a physically correct environment
  • Capture high-resolution references with DSLR camera
  • Create and maintain an organized texture library
  • 3+ years' experience creating high-quality textures in the games industry
  • Strong ability to create photo-realistic, real-world textures (skill assessment may be required)
  • Expert knowledge of Photoshop, Z-Brush and normal map generation software
  • Full understanding of texture map properties in relation to their shading and lighting qualities
  • Able to create high-quality diffuse, specular, roughness and normal maps
  • Able to shoot texture and reference with DSLR camera
  • Able to collaborate and bring creativity to the team of modelers, environment artists, and lighters
Bonus: Experience with the Radiant Engine
  • Communicates and partners effectively with the development team

  • Strong awareness of console game budgets and technical constraints
