Human Resources Manager

Blizzard Entertainment is looking for an experienced and innovative human resources manager to join our human resources (HR) team in Irvine, CA. This role will be a strategic talent partner to our customer service and IT teams. This position will report to the senior human resource director for global business operations.


Serve as a business partner to the team by helping to create a supportive and innovative HR programs to suit the team’s initiatives.
Assess, help design, deliver, and facilitate human resources programs, employee communications, employee relations, and compensation and benefits.
Help drive people development initiatives for his or her teams, including performance management, talent and succession planning, and individual development plans.
Support the team’s employee opinion survey efforts by helping create, and drive action plans.
Provide coaching to management and employees to resolve conflicts, enhance team effectiveness, and ensure support of organizational changes and business plans.
Implement human resources policies, and ensure compliance with legal regulations.
Oversee customer service and IT human resources in Irvine, and participate in HR related initiatives and projects for global customer service and global IT.
Participate in strategy sessions with the HR team on policy and HR practices.
As needed, complete administrative tasks for the teams you support.


A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a generalist role working with IT groups
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Strong partnership skills, and experience with HR specialist teams (talent acquisition, learning and organizational development, compensation, HR systems, etc.)
Proven success utilizing employee attraction, engagement, and retention strategies
Strong background in California employment law
Superior interpersonal, and communications skills (both written and verbal)
Demonstrated business-based mindset through delivery of human resources services
Able to excel in an ever-changing environment using an entrepreneurial mindset
Self-starter, highly motivated, and achievement oriented
Comfortable operating independently when required, but enjoy a collaborative environment as well
Human resources experience in an entertainment, publishing, or gaming company


PHR or SPHR certification for California preferred
Experience in Oracle HRIS, demonstrated competency in Excel and PowerPoint
International HR experience
Advanced degree (Masters, etc.) in related fields
